For Immediate Release:
LilyPadz Breast Pads receive a positive review from Midwives online .com trained professional.
LilyPadz were reviewed under the following categories, Prevention of leaking, Discreetness, comfort, safety ans cost effectiveness.
Prevention of leaking (in between a regular feeding routine)
Unlike traditional breast pads LilyPadz do not soak up milk leakage but stop it from happening. But there is a knack to using Lilypadz, which is easy enough to do. The idea is to create a slight pressure on the nipple to stop the letdown reflex from occurring. This product comes with very clear instructions on how to achieve the correct fit. Some women may find it takes a while to adapt to Lilypadz and the instructions do recommend that LilyPadz are not used until breastfeeding is well established; this allows you time to ensure that you know how your breasts are responding to breastfeeding generally.
Discreetness (no bulky pad lines)
Due to the clever wavy edge the LilyPadz do not show through clothing. They are completely flexible and comfortable to wear. As there is no leakage or bulky lines it is an easy item to wear without a bra, ideal for sleeping in, swimming or, if you want an evening out, wearing under gorgeous lingerie.
Comfort (comfortable to wear)
These pads gently adhere to the breast. This helps to ensure that they do not slip out of place and also helps with the action of preventing milk from leaking from the breast. If your nipples are sensitive and since lilypadz is fairly firmly fitting, I would recommend that anyone using this product spend some time each day without covering the breast/nipple. This action can help prevent soreness and cracking of nipples along with correct positioning of the baby.
Safety (surgical grade silicone and gas permeable like contacts)
LilyPadz are made from silicone and are gas permeable. This ensures that they do not cause or contribute to breast soreness, cracked nipples or thrush. They should be washed with mild soap and water to ensure that the gentle adhesive side of the lilypadz is maintained.
Cost effectiveness (re-usable)
LilyPadz do not need to be replaced very often, approximately every two months depending on care, so they are very cost effective. Some women will want to have two pairs available for use but this still reduces the hassle of shopping for breast pads every week.
Midwives TIP
Lilypadz is innovative and ingenious. It may help more women have a feeling of freedom and femininity while still breastfeeding. Lilypadz may well make a significant contribution to the success of establishing breastfeeding.
