Shampoo Rinse Cup Receives Positive Review By Healthvisitors.com Health Professionals
Health Professionals at www.healthvisitors.com reviewed the New Shampoo Rinse Cup Distributed by Trendykid. A detailed account below gave the Shampoo Rinse Cup the thumbs up, calling the cup an innovative product that helps children and parents have a positive experience during what can be a stressful time!
The Shampoo Rinse Cup may well make life easier for parents when washing older children’s hair at bath time. The rinse cup is a suitable size, non-obtrusive and has no sharp edges. The cup has a flat shaped side with a soft flexible edge that assists parents with keeping their child’s head steady during hair washing. The flexible edge and the cups inner compartment helps to keep most of the water and soap from getting directly into the child’s eyes, thus helping to reduce stress for child and carer during hair washing. The Shampoo Rinse Cup is safe, lightweight and easy for parents to handle and keep clean. Helps build hair washing confidence in children If the Shampoo Rinse Cup is used correctly it may minimise the amount of water and soap that gets into the child’s eyes and children may feel more confident when having their hair washed.
To ensure that there is a watertight seal between the head and connecting cup, parents would need to hold the Cup firmly against the child’s head. With active children a parent may have to exert more pressure than they desire, although there is a soft flexible edge. Some parents may find the Cup a useful tool in making hair washing at bath times more enjoyable and it may build some children’s confidence whilst having their hair washed. Using the jug for very young children who are unable to co-operate may not be as effective as its use for ‘older children’.
Flexible edge prevents water and soap from going into children's face and eyes The Shampoo Rinse Cup is a very interesting modification of a general use jug and the flexible edge and the flat side of the jug will definitely help with children who are able to co-operate with gentle instruction. The Shampoo Rinse Cup is even more effective when the child’s head is tilted slightly backwards. The cup itself can be used can be used by parents to assist in maintaining this position.
Split inner compartment helps water flow evenly
The split inner compartment of the cup helps with an even water flow. The flat sided shape of the rinse cup and the slightly concave inner compartment appears to help to direct the water flow and prevent too much contact with water in the child’s face and eyes.
Helps develop hair washing independence in older children
Observing an older child using the Shampoo Rinse Cup independently of a carer, I noticed an initial ‘awkwardness’ in them placing the cup in a position that would be effective but suggest that this is a case where ‘Practice may help’. Additional Comments
· The information and illustrations that accompany the cup do target the correct age i.e. older children. I feel that the rinse cup is not a suitable aide for babies and very young children
· Price, in comparison to other hair washing aides that I have seen on the market – make it more competitive
· In the literature provided, it is stated that the rinse cup can be used as a small toy. I can support that wholeheartedly. I observed children having lots of fun using the cup in some very imaginary ways! This fun use of the rinse cup is an added bonus, as children get used to the look and feel of the tool and will start to experiment with it. This, in time, may lead them onto independent and effective use of the shampoo rinse cup as an aid to hair washing without tears. I also confirm that the cup is a big help with the storage of bathtub items.
· Well done for such an innovative product to help children have a positive experience during what can be a stressful time.
